Prof. Valentina Casarino “Some variational inequalities in a nonsymmetric Gaussian setting”

In this talk we review some recent results, obtained in a joint work with Paolo Ciatti and Peter Sjögren, concerning variational bounds for a nonsymmetric Ornstein—Uhlenbeck semigroup H_t (t>0). First, we introduce variation seminorms and consider the variation operator of H_t (t>0), taken with respect to t, in R^n. Then we discuss the boundedness of this seminorm, both in a weak and in a strong sense, in L^p spaces with respect to the invariant measure.
