13th Euro-Maghrebian Workshop on Evolution Equations

Since the late 90s the Euro-Maghrebian Workshops on Evolution Equations have been organized biannually by working groups in Germany, Italy and France, as well as Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria.   For the first time, the 13th edition of this important meeting has been organized in Spain, in CIEM,  International Center for Mathematical  Meetings (Castro Urdiales) from 09/23/2024 to 09/27/2024.

The goal of these workshops is to explore and encourage interplays between different approaches to evolution equations. In these conferences we put a special emphasis on mini courses about recent topics in the field. On this occasion, three international experts will give courses on related topics for a non-specialized audience.

The dynamical behavior of many systems in science and technology can be described by evolution equations. The fundamental examples such as heat, wave, Schrödinger, reaction-diffusion, and Navier Stokes equations are the mathematical foundation for the modeling of countless problems coming from, e.g., nonlinear optics, chemical reactions, population dynamics, and fluid mechanics.

Important topics are treated (not exclusively): linear partial differential equations and semigroups, nonlinear equations, stochastic evolutionary processes, and evolution problems. Within a functional analytic framework, the methods in the area of evolution equations include PDE techniques, harmonic analysis, operator and spectral theory, and stochastic analysis.
